WMR Contractors has signalled a robust period of growth, announcing over £2 million in new project wins across Scotland’s heritage, education, and commercial sectors.
Following a record period of activity, these appointments showcase the firm’s versatility in managing everything from high-profile retail environments to sensitive academic refurbishments and bespoke private developments.

Academic and Student Living
The cornerstone of these recent awards is a contract with the University of St Andrews. Following a competitive tender via Public Contracts Scotland, WMR will undertake a comprehensive refurbishment at Agnes Blackadder Hall. This includes a full upgrade of 77 student bedrooms and ceiling replacements.
Commercial, Heritage and Leisure
WMR’s footprint in the commercial sector remains a core driver of its current growth. The firm has secured a suite of contracts within iconic city-centre locations, including:
- Retail & Hospitality: Strategic external upgrades to 48 St Vincent Street, many will recognise the corner block on Buchanan Street and St Vincent Street as the home of the Apple store. WMR are also on site completing a modernisation scheme to an iconic hospitality venue further up St Vincent Street.
- Landmark Offices: WMR is excited to commence a refurbishment project on the 3rd Floor of The Culzean Building on Renfield Street, continuing WMR’s successful track record of modernising prominent office assets.
- Leisure & Community: Reinforcing its commitment to local infrastructure, WMR has been appointed to deliver the refurbishment of Dalserf Bowling Club in Ashgill, following fire damage late last year.

High-End Residential Expansion
Beyond its commercial and academic success, WMR is expanding its reach in the luxury living sector. The firm has recently secured multiple high-end private residential projects across Fife and Stirlingshire, including a bespoke 3,700 sq. ft. property in the village of Buchlyvie which is now moving into its final stages of development.
WMR is delivering a unique modern design that incorporates highly sustainable elements such as integrated solar roofing. This project, along with WMR’s wider residential pipeline, demonstrates the technical capability of the firm’s site and commercial teams, working alongside trusted subcontractors, to deliver premium finishes within the private housing market.
Commitment to Community & Third Sector
In alignment with the firm's dedication to social impact, WMR is proud to continue supporting two vital Scottish charities with improvements across their estates. These projects include specialised works for Rookie Rockstars, supporting their mission to build confidence in young people, and facility enhancements at Robin House, part of the Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) network. These projects highlight WMR’s focus on delivering high-quality environments that provide lasting community benefits.

“Securing these contracts across such a diverse range of sectors is a testament to our team’s technical capability. We are particularly pleased to strengthen our relationship with institutional clients like the University of St Andrews, while continuing to revitalise iconic commercial, domestic, and charitable assets across Scotland.”
